Today on ‘riehl conversations’ podcast I meet with Frank Scinocca of Parkway lanes. We give you a behind the scenes look, introduce you to some very talented league bowlers, their well practiced shots, and frank gives a Tutorial on how to pick a bowling ball and a brief lesson on how to bowl.
Today I venture to Reit Syd of Dauphin to speak with owner operator Don Tarrant, and Chair of the Parkland Ukrainian Family Fund Rodney Juba. We discuss the origin of this meaningful project, its meaning to those involved, and some of the incredible people that have come together to work on this passion project which will assist Ukrainian immigrants from war torn Ukraine. Thus orchestrating an opportunity to settle in the Parkland area or (as I like to call it) “The Land of Milk and Honey”.
Today I welcome Kerri Riehl back to the show. She’s been reading a new book ‘Start with Why’ by Simon Sinek. In our conversation we explore why we have chosen the paths we have, why we started the Podcast, and she shares why she decided to resign from Dauphin City Council last fall.
Today on ‘riehl conversations’ I speak with farmer John of Crooked Creek Farms, we talk about holistic farming, his hopes for his fall rye crop, the state of winter wheat this spring, and expectations for this season.
Today I speak with Roman Panchenko, a first generation Ukrainian that has proudly made Dauphin his family’s home. This is his story, and how he is committing his time and energy to help others call the Parkland home through the Parkland Ukrainian Family Fund.
Today meet Irene (Orysia) Yarema Whitwell of Dauphin as she shares her story. In response to feeling concern and helplessness for her friends and family in Ukraine, she began making beautiful and elaborate iced cookies to share her culture, to raise awareness and to create revenue for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
Today on the show we talk about some long term ramifications of the unprecedented use of the Emergency Measures Act on our psyche and the real fear this has left all Canadians with. We touch on a challenging moment for our Premier Heather Stephenson, and then bring to light some exciting local Municipal announcements in our region!
Today in the Podcast we consider how to incorporate new ideas into our local communities and economy. Also we explore rising costs including gas prices and carbon tax.
On today’s show we discuss Parliaments role in passing laws that will be lasting, affect our daily lives, media, freedom AND your family’s day to day safety. Introducing Bill C 5 and Bill C 11(formerly C 10). How do we as a society tell our government we don’t want it? If it passes how does it affect our daily lives and our safety? What are the seen and unseen repercussions of these Bill’s if passed as federal law, and what precedent does it make for us as Canadian citizens?
The elephant in the room. Kerri raised the question to me… that was brought to her. When asked if ‘riehl conversations’ can create solutions, do we feel we are making a difference? The whole purpose of the podcast was to facilitate that. To bring back honest and heart felt questions and concerns, for our community, our province, and our country. If after listening to the podcast you have more questions and are burning to dig deeper then we are accomplishing what we set out to do. The intention of media is not to spoon feed solutions, or have all the answers…but to provoke you to thought, and create conversations of your own. Go ahead and ask questions! Debate and have conversations with friends and family over political and current events, over our country’s lawmaking. If we don’t talk about these things openly, it will be almost impossible to find impactful and lasting solutions that affect the Government as a whole, our community’s and the laws that we find ourselves subjected to.
